23 Dec We Just Want You to Have Fun
There was just not a lot of tourism information to be found. Well surprisingly we finally found El Valle de Anton after missing the turn four times because there were no street signs at that time. Fortunately I am a calm and patient person but the frustration was mounting!
After spending several months here in the beaches area trying to get our first new venture off the ground, we started noticing a pattern from other local Gringos, Snowbirds and vacationers. We met most of them at the local Happy Hours (I think.) As one of us is a Social Butterfly (I am not mentioning names, but her initials are Dorothee U.) we started to get to know a lot of the people and made great connections with many different tour operators in the city and found out a great deal about this wonderful country.
One night while talking over dinner, a light bulb suddenly appeared over Dorothee’s head! She said “Do you know what this area needs?” So, I of course retorted “Yes, more Happy Hours!!” (Apparently, that was not the correct answer!) She said “No Idiot, we need a one stop website that gives anyone visiting the area, plans to visit or is already living here pertinent information about the area. You know, where to go, what to do, and how to have fun!” I of course said “Great Idea! I have to make shirts!” Apparently, that was the wrong answer also!
In actuality, it was a brilliant idea! So off we go! Dorothee started assembling a team of local experts! And we started putting information together about hiking, mountains, beaches, water sports, golf, tennis, restaurants and the like. Piles and piles of data were collected. Working with a wonderful lady in Panama City (Panamá, not Florida,) our new website started to take shape. We worked with photographers, writers and IT people (all of whom spoke a language I didn’t understand,) to bring coronadoconciergepanama.com into a living, breathing entity that has just skyrocketed!
The feedback was instantaneous and the website became incredibly popular! So many people came up to us and said “We love the new website and we didn’t realize how much Panamá has to offer…….How do we get there?” (Oh-Oh, there is that light bulb again!) “Since Coronado Concierge Panama is all about having fun, we should go on a few trips to see some of these locations!” And with that, a fantastic new adventure was born. With all of our connections (not just made during Happy Hours,) we quickly got in touch with local tour guides and bus companies to create exciting events. The new platform, where individual travelers can join in and meet new friends was just an additional perk for everybody.
Since then many have given us feedback, have been on board multiple times and can’t wait for their friends or family members to arrive, so they can join us on a trip again.
But as always, without this amazing community we could not do that. Many emails we receive now are about upcoming events, concerts or places worth visiting. We love hearing from everybody, so our next day trips will be created with you in mind!
And just in case you are wondering, Dorothee is barely folding shirts anymore. The requests we receive from individual travelers for a private chef, yacht or just helping organize their entire trip has left me to slave over my shirts alone.
