From Concierge to Event Panner

How it all began..

Many people have asked us how Coronado Concierge came along. We thought it’s a great time to tell the story.

When Bill & I were preparing our move to Panama we did as so many others have before us. We researched online and tried to find all the answers for this tremendous move to Panama on Facebook, in blogs and websites. It was a little harder then, because the options for online research were limited. But never the less we made it safely to Panama and started our new life and T-shirt business,  (Colibreeze Tee’s & Gifts)

It didn’t take long for us to make new friends and helpful connections at happy hours and social gatherings. Soon we were part of a huge network of like minded people that made our life so much easier.

Many times, we thought it would have been so helpful to have had more of the information that we learned on the ground before packing our bags.

And that’s how the idea of the website was born. With the help of awesome friends and volunteers, we began writing down everything we thought is important to know based on our experience. We also added many fun things to do in Panama and of course the beautiful places to explore.

Shortly after the launch of our website Bill and I realized we needed to add a blog & newsletter. There was just so much more to share about our new home of choice, the place we call “Almost Paradise”. The feedback that we received was tremendous! Weekly, new readers from all over the world signed up for the newsletter, emails with questions about Panama and the Coronado area. Requests for referrals and recommendations came in by the dozens.

Then one day a friend called and asked if we would like to be part of a team bringing Comedians to Panama and help organize some shows. Wow, that sounds like fun! Of course, we joined in.

The first show was in Coronado and it was sold out in a heartbeat. But we had 3 more shows in the city. Because we had more people from the beaches area that wanted to go to these shows, we arranged for a bus. This was our first ever group trip. Talk about learning the hard way! The bus was stuck in traffic, people were standing for over an hour waiting and I was close to a nervous breakdown. That’s not exactly the perfect start to organizing day trips. With the worst experience out of the way and a new bus company to work with, we started hosting fun trips for everyone all over this wonderful country.

It’s now over 3 years and we have had so many amazing trips with even more amazing friends, we couldn’t be more happy and thankful to you all.

Over the next few weeks, let’s take a look back at some of these trips. Send us an email of your favorite memory and a picture, if you can, of your favorite trip with us. “Keeping the memories alive” is the motto, so we can all enjoy moments we have shared together.

Meanwhile our Concierge Team is preparing for the future, eagerly awaiting the time to take you all on a trip again! There are big plans in the future, new destinations and super exciting events planned. We hope you are ready for it! 🙂
