
Coronado, Panama is located 90 minutes outside of Panama City. Coronado is known as the “beaches area” due to stretch of accessible beaches along the Pacific coastline. The beaches area extends from Nueva Gorgona to Santa Clara. The Pacific Ocean stays around 29 degrees Celsius (84 degrees Fahrenheit) throughout the year. Surfing, standup paddle boarding, kayaking, and other water sports are common throughout the area.
Located in the Seco Arco (dry arch) of Panama, Coronado and surrounding areas receive the least amount of rainfall in all of Panama. The rainy season typically begins in May and ends in November. The average rainfall is approximately 244cm ( 96″) per year. The dry season occurs between November though May and generally sees little to no rain. Average temperatures are between 25-36 degrees Celsius (77-85 degrees Fahrenheit) throughout the year.
This area is a popular weekend destination for Panamanians as well as expats. Coronado tends to be busiest among expats from November though May. Part of the popularity comes not only because of the warm climate, but also because of the slower pace of life Coronado has to offer.
