28 Nov Life after Picasso
By Claire Ross
I know I appear in many people’s phone-books as ‘Picasso Claire’. This identity has been an enormous pleasure, a huge responsibility and one that has both humbled and over-whelmed me in all it has taught me these past 7 years (almost to the day).
Of all the lessons learnt, Picasso has taught me that if you focus fearlessly on a dream, work with kindness and discipline, embrace your lucky breaks, keep focusing on the positive and always moving forward, you will see your dream become your reality.
The Picasso dream, and this chapter of life and learning for me, will always have been about love and community. I have stood every day on my corner, watching this little bar and this beautiful community grew together around me, joyfully, bringing a sense of true belonging.
As I say my farewells, pack my bags and inhale deeply, ready to take a new leap of faith into another great and limitless unknown, I know that I served my purpose here. I created a place that feels like home to many, and I gave our tribe a beat to dance to.

My feet are ready to dance on new soil now. I journey onward knowing that I am passing Picasso into loving and capable hands, that will keep the essence and the beat of the vision alive into the future.
Will I return some day? Perhaps. All I know is that another chapter of purpose awaits me now.
I will glance back over my shoulder occasionally and smile in the knowledge that I created my vision and left my legacy in Picasso’s words on the wall: “Everything you can imagine is real”…
We will be introducing the new owners soon; stay tuned! Be sure to visit our restaurants around Coronado page for other great options.
